Marshall Wiggins - Drums and Percussion

Hi! My name is Marshall Wiggins. I have played the drums for around 9 years. During that time I have been chosen as All-District percussion twice, being seated in 2nd and 3rd chair. I have participated for the last two years in the gold honors jazz band at Western Kentucky University as a freshman and a sophomore. I am currently the section leader for the Bowling Green High School drum-line and percussion and have received 3 distinguished ratings for solo and ensemble. I love playing drums in bands at church and as well at gigs around town where I have had the honor to play in crowds of all sizes, including around 2000 people at the Ark Encounter a couple of times. I have also participated in a couple of the house and semester bands here at BGRBA.
Drumming is where I have found my voice and passion. I look forward to helping you grow as a musician here at Bowling Green Rock Band Academy.

Micah Sawyer - Drum Set

Yo, my name is Micah Sawyer. For about 6 years, I’ve been doing nothing but playing drums and honing my craft. Well, aside from all the school, hanging out with friends, playing video games, watching shows, listening to music… okay, maybe I’ve done more than just practice drums. I started my journey with drums when hanging at a friend’s house. He started hitting things with sticks and I thought there was nothing cooler. Then I realized I could hit things with sticks too, and even play songs from my favorite band, Twenty One Pilots. I did all the things necessary to start learning; researching, planning, and begging my parents for lessons. I started taking lessons with John Gibbens, but now I’m taking lessons here at BGRBA wit h Matt DeVore. I’ve seen my abilities rise to heights I never thought I could reach. Since then, I’ve been doing a lot with my drumming skills. I’ve been a proud member of the Paisley Band every semester I enrolled in the Rock Band Program. I get to go on stage with friends and play shows around town as a member of the BGRBA House Band. And now, I get the chance to teach lessons and start my career as a musician. I hope to learn along with my students and hone my teaching skills so I can be the one teaching the next Twenty One Pilots fanboy.

Aiden Stathers - Guitar

Hello, my name is Aiden Stathers and I have lived in Bowling Green, Kentucky my entire life. I am 18 years old and a senior here at a local high school, where I have created a guitar club that was turned into a class over the past couple of years. Music has always been very comforting to me, I have been immersed in it since I was very young. I learned how to play the cello in elementary school, which I still play today. This love grew more as I became obsessed with the guitar and would play it constantly in my free time starting in middle school. I was also the first ever student from my highschool to be a part of all-state guitar. I love how much music connects people and am so excited to share my passion with all of you!
