BGRBA Group Program Guide

BEGINNER ROCK BAND

Perfect for students who are new to playing music or have limited experience performing with others! Students learn the fundamentals of playing in a band, keeping time, following song structures, and working together. Basic knowledge of their instrument is helpful, but extensive experience is not required.

INTERMEDIATE ROCK BAND

For musicians who have a solid understanding of their instrument and are ready for the next level! Students should be comfortable playing complete songs, keeping steady rhythm, and learning music with some independence. Focus is placed on ensemble skills, musicianship, and stage confidence.

ADVANCED ROCK BAND

Designed for experienced musicians who are confident on their instruments and ready for more challenging material! Students should be comfortable learning songs independently, adapting to different musical styles, and performing with others. Emphasis is placed on musicianship, collaboration, and live performance.

BLUEGRASS BAND

For musicians interested in traditional and contemporary bluegrass music! Students explore rhythm, melody, improvisation, and acoustic ensemble playing. Instruments typically include guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, bass, and vocals. All experience levels are welcome!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT GROUP PLACEMENT

At BGRBA, bands are formed primarily by skill level, musical experience, and readiness — NOT age!

Our goal is to create the strongest, most enjoyable musical experience possible for every student. This means a 7-year-old musician may be placed in the same band as a 12-year-old if their abilities and experience are a good match!

We carefully consider each student’s abilities, experience, and musical development when building our bands. BGRBA reserves the right to recommend or adjust group placements to ensure every musician has the best opportunity to learn, contribute, grow, and succeed.

Not sure which group is right for your musician?

No problem! Our instructors are happy to help find the best fit.

Our goal is simple: Build great bands, create great experiences, and help every musician thrive!
